From the moment you arrive, the experience feels simple yet satisfying-exactly what you want when you’re craving freshly made karaage. The free parking lot makes it easy to stop by, whether you’re a local or just passing through, and the wheelchair accessible entrance ensures a comfortable visit for everyone.

The menu is focused but full of flavor, with dishes that highlight the restaurant’s specialty: perfectly fried chicken. One of the standout options is the 定食 並, a balanced set meal that feels hearty without being overwhelming. If you’re really hungry, the ミックス定食大盛 offers a generous portion that lets you sample different textures and tastes in one sitting. Each bite of karaage is crispy on the outside and juicy inside, with seasoning that leans toward bold yet comforting.

For those who prefer something more indulgent, the からあげ弁当大盛り ニンニク味 is a must-try. The garlic flavor is rich but not overpowering, making it incredibly addictive. Similarly, the にんにく 大 version takes that same punchy taste and amplifies it, perfect for anyone who enjoys a stronger kick. On the lighter side, the コンソメ唐揚げ弁当 並 offers a slightly different profile, with a savory consomme twist that adds depth without heaviness.

What customers say?

“ The karage is delicious. There are some various karage menu. The place isn't spacious, only 2 tables, each for max 4 persos. You can order to take away. Good food to try! ”

“ This restaurant is a must-try for fried chicken lovers. I sometimes order bento boxes, but it's rare to find a restaurant that serves lunch of this quality at this price. I can confidently say that this is the best among the Zaruya restaurants. I visit regularly, and when I'm feeling a bit unsatisfied, I drink lemon squash and eat the fried chicken here, and somehow it makes me feel better. There's a wide variety of flavors, so I never get bored, and it's a taste that makes me want to eat it again and again. However, if I order a large portion or too much fried chicken, I end up feeling too full and it can interfere with my afternoon work, so I usually just go for the regular portion. Simply put, it's a delicious fried chicken restaurant. ”

“ I know that everyone has their own preferences when it comes to food, but I think the fried chicken here is delicious. We buy fried chicken from various places, but there are few places that my children approve of. They say that Mom's fried chicken is better, but they eat Fujiya's fried chicken and say it's delicious. I recommend the original and the Japanese style. ”

“ This is one of my favorite fried chicken dishes served in Shonai. When I was working in Akita, I often went to restaurants there. This time I ordered the large bento with Akita miso. The fried chicken has a miso flavor and is slightly sweet and salty, making it a great pairing with rice. Because it's freshly fried, the batter is crispy, which is a nice touch. The rice is cooked quite firm, making it perfect for a bento. Besides the rice and fried chicken, the set also includes ketchup-flavored pasta, shredded cabbage, and boiled green beans, but I think the vegetables could have been a little more flavorful. However, I definitely recommend trying the fried chicken here at least once. ”

“ This fried chicken restaurant is by far the highest quality and has many repeat customers. It's delicious even when cold, but if you're here, we recommend trying it freshly fried. You can eat inside the restaurant, and if you order a large set meal or mixed set meal, you can also get one refill of rice and miso soup. Personally, I think the Japanese style and lemon salt have a delicate and refined flavor, and to be honest, they taste much better on their own than with rice. Rising prices have been gradually increasing, but the satisfaction you get out of the meal is worth the price, so this is a popular restaurant with many repeat customers. ”

“ The fried chicken alone is probably delicious. This was my first time buying a bento. I was thinking of getting the 500 yen small bento, but it turns out they added two more pieces of fried chicken, making it a total of five, so I went for the regular bento for 570 yen. Well, the fried chicken is delicious. You can tell they use high-quality cuts. The outside is crispy and fragrant, and the meat is well-seasoned and tender. I can see why it's the most popular in Tsuruoka. Other side dishes include shredded cabbage, boiled green beans, and a little pasta, as well as Akita Komachi rice. For the discerning palates of Tsuruoka residents, this rice is quite underwhelming. I think it would be great to get the fried chicken to go and eat it with home-cooked Haenuki rice or Tsuyahime rice. ”

“ I bought this to go with my drinks. I ordered two servings of the "garlic flavor" to take out. The garlic hit me right away with the first bite. The saltiness was just right. It was delicious and went well with my drinks. Considering it's a fried chicken specialty store, the price was neither cheap nor expensive. Two servings were about 950 yen including tax. ”

- 還暦じじい -

“ Personally, I think the set meals served in the restaurant are the best, but the bento boxes are also quite filling! The picture shows a large bento box for 650 yen. The fried chicken is not topped with lemon, but our recommendation is the "lemon salt" flavor. ”
